Dead Daughters

They say every 50 years a foul, festering wind rises from the depths Earth bringing with it a sound so foul and heavy it can only be described as something surely from the anus of the devil himself.

This sound has taken many forms over the centuries: The thud of a hammer against a rusted nail being driven through the wrist of Christ; the screams of the first death brought about by the Black Plague; the impact of 4.5 tons of atomic bomb slapping the face of Hiroshima; the shrill siren‘s call of Richard Simmons drawing obese middle aged women onto a dance floor; and now a three piece stoner doom metal band from Lansing, Michigan called Dead Daughters.

Every sopping riff Dead Dauthers belts out is like being thrusted in a doom-driven hellscape of fuzzy pleasure where disco never existed and the lead singer of Black Sabbath never had his own reality show.

Just as easily the soundtrack to the ancient war between the Herzodinian Wizards and the Quarklord Warlocks of Mars, or a full-blast flush of a municipal sewer system, you owe it to your self to press play and soak in the putrid sounds of Dead Daughters.

Soukup, Peters and Wilder

Betsy Soukup (bass), Chris Peters (guitar), and Kaleigh Wilder (saxophone) are a trio of improvisers who forge worlds made up of layers of sound, with textures ranging from dense and obscure to sparse and tenuous. Dead Waves : An Improvised Paranormal Podcast

There has been a time in every person’s life when they need to ask someone for advice. Some might turn to a friend, a relative, a clergyman, or a doctor, looking for guidance and wisdom. But where do you turn when the answers lie beyond the scope of normal? Maybe you’re a temp-imp who just can’t do anything right by their mother no matter how many people you flay. Or you’re a gelatinous ooze living her best life but you can’t find that missing piece of yourself. Or perhaps you found out the family pet is actually the Dogman and your homeowners association has breed restrictions. That’s when you call Dead Waves. Lilith, a psychic radio DJ, hosts a weekly advice show with her newly dead husband, Jack, and the demon they regret summoning from Hell, Grem. They’ve helped callers with vampire roommates, frozen cavemen, clingy ghosts wives, vagina frogs, and everything else in between. But believe us when we say if you think you’ve heard it all, you haven’t heard Dead Waves.

Karl Perpignon

Hey, my name is Karl and I am a self taught artist based in Metro – Detroit that dabbles in just about anything i can get myself into into. My main focus and (strangely enough) my passion is analog collage art! It all started on rainy days when i was a young boy cutting up and drawing in magazines at my kitchen table. I would play Dr. Frankenstein and switch the body parts of all the people in the magazines and switch the backgrounds to create my own pictures and my own little world. I guess you can say that not much has changed since then, because I’m still doing it!

Mark Larsen
